Description

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (signed into law February 17, 2009) appropriates an unprecedented level of federal funding aimed at preserving and creating jobs, investing in transportation, environmental protection and other infrastructure, spurring technological advances, and stabilizing state and local government budgets.  The statute requires that spending and activity commence as quickly as possible in an effort to jump-start economic recovery. 

This EBC Forum will follow up on the first and second EBC stimulus programs (in March and July of 2009) and focus on how the Commonwealth of Massachusetts received, allocated and spent the federal stimulus funds. This program will also address the Second Round of stimulus funding. Special emphasis will be placed on the following activities most relevant to EBC members: 

Energy  - renewable energy, efficiency, clean tech, smart grid
Environment - Brownfields remediation, SRF wastewater & water treatment
Transportation - Roads, bridges, railways etc.
