Devens Recycling Center gets MSW Permit

August 7, 2009

On July 8, 2009 the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection granted DRC a permit modification to its existing operating license.  DRC now accepts MSW (Municipal Solid Waste).  The modification allows the facility to receive 500 tons of MSW and 1000 tons of C&D (Construction and Demolition) material daily.  This is great news for their customers.  For those customers who presently haul both waste streams they no longer need to be concerned with routing different materials to different locations.  DRC can handle it all.  This simple convenience can save their customers big dollars on payroll, wear and tear on their hauling fleet not to mention diesel.  DRC consolidate the loads.  Customers can stop trucking MSW farther than they need to.  Bringing the material to DRC will allow haulers to bid municipal contracts more competitively while not reducing profit margins.  There are many advantages of the new permit.

Here are a few highlights that make DRC stand out from its competitors.

·       Ease of entry

·       Drivers do not wait in lines

·       The large concrete pad turnaround area is swept daily.  Trucks won?t be getting flat tires here at Devens

·       Six 50? bay tipping doors give plenty of space to tip a load and get back on the road in record time.

·       Friendly, efficient scale house personnel handle all their customers? needs while providing them with accurate material reporting.

·       The facility was designed with the LEED projects in mind.  Construction material flow is tracked from the moment it enters the facility.  Customers can access this reporting on their time schedule 24/7 through the customer portal of their website.

·       The management staff at Devens is willing to assist in creating project specific reports for the Construction Waste Management Plan that owners and General Contractors require.

Call Devens Recycling Center today to discuss how they can handle all your disposal needs.
